A five-room resale in Canberra taken dark and tactile, where black-framed glass and smoked timber do the work that walls used to.

The old kitchen partition was replaced with a black-framed glass screen, so the cooking, dining and living areas share one long view while the smell of dinner stays where it belongs. A marble-veined feature wall carries the television and runs into a low console that keeps the floor clear; opposite it, the window bay is left open to the light. The bedrooms work on the same contrast — micro-cement headboard walls, floating bedside drawers and a strip of warm light tucked behind the panel — and the kitchen answers with dark walnut fronts, a black worktop and leather pulls. Both bathrooms are clad corner to corner in stone-look tile and wood-grain panelling, with frameless glass instead of a shower curb.
