A flat in Chua Chu Kang done in micro-cement and walnut, where the handmade things on the wall matter more than the finishes behind them.
The shell is deliberately imperfect: micro-cement walls with visible trowel movement, a pale concrete-look floor, and walnut carpentry with an open grain left uncoated by gloss. Against that, the styling is all craft — woven rattan discs grouped above the bed, a rattan drum pendant over the dining table, ceramics in the lit niches beside the television. The kitchen and dining room are treated as one room, with a solid timber table set directly against the counter run so cooking and eating share the same surface line. A bench seat continues from the dining area into the hallway, giving the flat a single horizontal datum from the entrance to the balcony. Both bathrooms stay in the same family of colours, one built around a freestanding tub with a timber ledge, the other a wet room with a round mirror and a floating walnut vanity.
